Job Description

The Inventory Control Analyst (ICA) performs inventory analysis and control the day-to-day inventory operations. They have the ability to produce reports from various databases and spreadsheets and to analyze inventory statistics. The ICA follows standard procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency. The Inventory Control Analyst assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations.

Key Job Responsibilities


  • Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies, documents, and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Oversees stock items, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers
  • Creating uniformity and streamlining of inventory parts in various locations
  • Communicates with Purchasing Department and Logistics Department as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, overstock, etc.
  • Ensures adherence to approved budget
  • Conducts and leads cycle counts and end-of-year count in various locations
  • Performs required inventory reconciliation activities within internal system
  • Creates and/or improves SOPs and Controls
  • Creating, running, and analyzing different inventory reports to ensure accuracy of inventory and that processes are being followed
  • Perform inventory audits
  • Track inventory orders
  • Organize stockroom and warehouse inventory to create efficiency to pick and pack
  • Manage the implementation and roll-out of SharePoint to be used as a collaboration and document management tool
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned

Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates

☐ High School ☒ Associates / Technical ☐ Bachelor’s Degree ☐ Other Certification

  • Years of relevant work experience required: 5 years of experience in related area required
  • Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures
  • Experience with both databases and spreadsheets
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to cope with varying levels of workload and multiple tasks
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and proactive to meet company needs
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
  • Requires occasional bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting
  • Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Requires prolong periods sitting at a desk working using a computer
