IT Program Manager:Must live within a 50 Mile radius from the VLC

This position is responsible to lead divisional and enterprise level IT applications projects. This role ensures the system portfolio enhances the organizational strategy through successful, consistent and predictable delivery of programs, projects and applications.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Works with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish project goals and business case
  • Helps set strategic IT direction and assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution
  • Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget
  • Lead project managers and teams in developing and executing a program plan ensuring that authorized resources are obtained to make certain that all activities are performed. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management
  • Make recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues
  • Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management with business leaders
  • Manage, motivate and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures
  • Manage Programs/project at the division or enterprise level.
  • Make strategic decisions that impact Division or site
  • Manage, control, direct, and supervise assigned direct reports, including general leadership, planning, organizing, and reviewing
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
  • All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Project Management or Program Management Certification from the Project Management Institute


  • At least 8 years of experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 5 years managing projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations within established guidelines
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to research information, analyze data, and make recommendations, plans of action, and formulate alternative resolutions and system improvements
  • Must possess strong knowledge of computer operations and office software
  • Must possess strong operational and trouble shooting skills for software resources
  • Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
