Overview: The Packaging Manager will oversee the packaging and shipping of all Florida Avenue Brewing products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Work with the VP of Productions to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and oversee training of employees • Create schedules of packaging, and QA/QC product flow • Work with the Head Brewer and QA/QC Manager to develop minimum quality standards for all aspects of the packaging process from raw ingredients to final packaging and define flavor and sensory analysis guidelines to assure all products are true to brand • Work with the Lead Cellar to develop procedures and maintain inventory of parts and consumables needed to ensure the efficient, sanitary, and uninterrupted flow of product from the brewhouse to packaging • Recommend and/or make improvements to machinery, equipment, processes and facilities affecting quality and/or efficiency and manage improvement projects • Provide direction, coaching and counseling to packaging team members. • Work closely with the brewing team to maintain a safe and highly efficient manufacturing environment. • Manages and operates basic controls of packaging machines, post filling • Enter production-pertinent information into Orchestrated Beer software Experience and Skills: • Demonstrates a mastery of the production process • Management level experience in a production brewery with firsthand experience in developing new processes and managing culture • SOP development and revision • Ability to work varied shifts • At least two years of packaging experience • Well organized with an eye for attention to detail • A strong understand of process controls • Forklift experience required • Familiar with brewery management software • Brewery management software experience strongly preferred • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays Education and Certification: • Associate’s degree or higher in related field or trade education is preferred • Cicerone Certified Beer Server preferred • Forklift certification preferred Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift 50lbs to shoulder height and push or pull 160lbs • Must be able to work on your feet for 10 hours • Must be able to crouch, bend, lift and reach • Must be able to work in hot, wet, and loud environment • Must be able to work with and around steam, electricity, harsh chemicals, and solvents • Continual moving, lifting, and manipulation of hoses, buckets, pumps, and other parts that require extended standing, lifting, crouching, and walking throughout shift Salary and Benefits: • Rate of pay commensurate with experience • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance • 401k with Company Match • Short-term disability and long-term disability • Life Insurance • Company Holidays • 401k with Company Match • Paid Time Off • Free Draft Beer Job Snapshot • Employment Type: Full-Time • Job Type: Exempt • Pay Type: Salary • Supervisor: VP of Production Equal Opportunity: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
