Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

We are looking for a talented, experienced individual to join our company as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. As part of our team, you will schedule routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance throughout our facilities, using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Additionally, you will enhance processes across the maintenance department, working closely with all individuals to determine needs, schedules, and priorities for maintenance personnel. As a planner/scheduler, you look for opportunities to understand points of failure and eliminate chronic maintenance needs, increasing efficiency across the entire organization.

Summary

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for providing planning and scheduling of all non-emergency maintenance activities and tenant work requests. This position will liaise with the maintenance teams and customers to ensure required resources are identified, planned, estimated, organized and scheduled prior to execution for efficient utilization of the maintenance resources. This position will need to work closely with other functions in the business to support business goals. In addition, this individual will have responsibility to ensure applicable business information/work order data is stored and maintained to support business decisions when needed.

Maintenance Planner Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan & schedule maintenance activities across multiple facilities, using CMMS
  • Develop and implement new maintenance processes throughout various departments
  • Use data to predict maintenance needs and identify candidates for capital replacement
  • Organize spare parts inventories to prepare for emergency or preventative maintenance needs
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness through correct maintenance prioritization and processes. Determines and arranges any operational safety requirements for the completion of a WO.
  • Creates and publishes weekly, monthly and quarterly work schedules and makes them available to team members and client representatives
  • Coordinates and conducts scheduling meeting w/ maintenance teams and customers for scheduling planned maintenance activities.
  • Visits job sites for work order clarification
  • Confers/communicates with work order requesters

Maintenance Planner Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in a facilities management, manufacturing, or maintenance planning role. Prefer an Associate Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software, ideally SAP
  • Organizational skills
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate priorities and schedules with clients and maintenance supervisors
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
