Manager of Clinic Operations


Located in the heart of San Fernando Valley, FixNation is a non-profit organization that strives to build a better world for cats and envisions a day when all tame cats have a home, and community cats are spayed or neutered. Founded by Karn Myers and the late Mark Dodge in 2007, FixNation provides a free, full-time, high-volume/high-quality spay and neuter clinic for homeless, stray and feral cats and provides low-cost, spay and neuter services for tame pet cats. FixNation is a GuideStar platinum-rated nonprofit widely known for its humane and compassionate Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) mission to improve the lives of homeless cats in Los Angeles. FixNation programs have sterilized over 210,000 cats to date!


FixNation is seeking a strategic-minded Manager of Clinic Operations to oversee all in-clinic day-to-day activities, including operations, client services and staff management, while maintaining top-notch clinic standards. The Manager of Clinic Operations will provide assurance that clients and patients receive the highest quality healthcare within the clinic's services. Internally, the Manager of Clinic Operations will supervise the training and performance of staff, use of volunteers, manage clinic inventory control and be responsible for clear and courteous internal communications. Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Director/Founder, the Manager of Clinic Operations will build external relationships and increase awareness of FixNation. This is a hands-on role that will work closely with staff, patients, and the public.


Clinic Operations

  • Promote and monitor high-quality patient care and customer service, ensuring smooth and efficient patient and client flow.
  • Stay current in knowledge of clinic standards, spay/neuter protocols and animal welfare issues and educate and train staff accordingly.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of clinic including human resources, payroll, overseeing the volunteer program, maintaining inventory, incoming donations, and billing.
  • Ensure a professional, clean, and presentable clinic.
  • Annually review/update the clinic employee operations manual and the employee handbook and ensure that all protocols are implemented and followed.
  • Follow OSHA standards for a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Follow veterinary board standardsto ensure that FixNation remains fully compliant with all current guidelines and laws.
  • Review and prepare all account payables and receivables to confirm that each is handled correctly and timely.

Organizational Leadership & Strategy

  • Foster a FixNation culture to attract and motivate a dynamic team of top-quality administrative and animal welfare professionals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for organizational improvement.
  • Oversee delivery and evaluation of programs, activities, and staff.
  • Provide content to the organization's social media consultant.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with any outside organizations utilizing FixNation facilities and/or vehicles.
  • Participate in community outreach events and build relationships with partners and potential donors.


  • Knowledge and love of cats.
  • Knowledge of spay/neuter protocols and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Professional Suite and databases.
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients, volunteers and media.
  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively.
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams and work as a team player.
  • Ability to act in a professional and confidential capacity and elevate issues to the Founder/Executive Director as needed.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task and be a creative problem solver.
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively and in a "hands on" manner.
  • Ability to articulate the mission and philosophy of FixNation and maintain a working knowledge of all clinic programs.
