Job Description

We are looking to add to our IT team as our company continues to grow. An ideal candidate would be an individual who does well in a fast-paced environment and can work independently to manage system related projects and upgrades but can also collaborate and bring forward new ideas and solutions. This person would work closely with our Director of IT to manage Five Star Call Center’s systems to meet company standards in security, advancements, and reliability. As part of that process, they would be tasked with the general upkeep of the network to eliminate risk through implementing patches, updates and addressing vulnerabilities. Ideally, this individual would have experience with security audits and a good understanding of best security practices.

This position is work-at-home for individuals living in the state of Mississippi. We have a Bring Your Own Device or equipment can be sent you option. Details below.

Position Qualifications and Requirements

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain existing servers utilizing both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Responsible for reviewing and enforcing system patching, software updates and security hardening
  • Take ownership of our VDI platform on VMWare Horizon View including managing images, virtual systems, and the VMWare Horizon software
  • Administrating our IPS/SIEM platform for assets, security alerts and logging events
  • Running vulnerability scans and addressing security concerns within the network that are system related
  • Take a key role in the security program in making sure best security practices are being adhered to within the systems of the network and Active Directory policies
  • Participate in security audits for PCI, HIPAA and SOC II regarding meeting compliance and answering 3rd party auditor questions
  • Managing our backup infrastructure and reviewing them regularly for gaps or concerns
  • Provide insight during disaster recovery discussions regarding preparation, execution, and enhancements to the procedures
  • ESXi and Hyper-V host maintenance and general support
  • Supporting and troubleshooting workstations running Windows 10
  • Monitoring and managing antivirus software and alerts
  • Supporting the phone network and assisting the telecommunications team where necessary
  • Handling escalated helpdesk needs and providing support to the helpdesk team when system issues arise
  • Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility and confidentiality in all areas
  • Physically be able to meet the demands of the job within the described work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned*

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a related IT field providing system support
  • Server administration with Windows and Linux, with the ability to diagnose software and system problems
  • Basic ESXi, Hyper-V and VMWare vSphere management experience
  • Understanding of Active Directory User and Computer management
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint
  • VMWare Horizon View experience is a plus
  • Experience working with IPS/SIEM platforms is a plus
  • Experience working with on-premises phone systems is a plus
  • Technical acumen
  • Ability to think outside the box to effectively solve complex problems
  • Ability to effectively multitask
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues with management
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a background check applicable with state and federal laws

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or computer controls, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 30 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Proficient hand/eye coordination required to type while talking on the phone.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Employees may be required to work other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings, weekends, etc., and overtime as business demands.
  • Employees may be required to attend on- or off-site business functions or training sessions as necessary.

Pay & Benefits

  • Starting pay - $50-$60k/annually DOE
  • Work hours - Typically between 8:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri (CST) (Hours and days could change pending business needs)
