Senior Tax Manager We are searching the market for a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager, someone seasoned and personable.  This is the ideal position for a candidate with exceptional leadership and client service abilities. Someone who is keen to enjoy work/life balance and be recognized for their hard work.  The successful candidate will have completed the in-depth Tax Course and have experience managing and developing team members.  Reporting to the Tax Partner, much of your work will be for Canadian Controlled Private corporations and their shareholders. You’ll be responsible for the completion of Canadian corporate tax engagements involving advice on tax planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues.  You’ll be accountable for delivery of industry and technical expertise relating to complex tax issues through high-quality deliverables such as client interactions, reports, technical work, and presentations.  Specifically, you will: * Oversee the performance of the tax team by managing and developing team members, providing ongoing guidance, encouragement, coaching and support * Lead the tax team to stay on track to meet established time frames and deadlines * Provide guidance and assistance to staff and clients on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and advanced compliance issues * Assist other professionals within the firm with tax support on their client files such as CRA reviews/audits * Organize and execute client tax engagements while acting as a trusted business advisor * Identify and recommend detailed solutions for complex tax issues * Create and implement reorganization strategies for clients including, family trust implementations, shareholder modifications, readying companies for sale, etc. * Review tax returns and working paper documentation * Proactively managing tax engagement billings * Provide tax solutions related to mergers and acquisitions including tax optimization, planning purchase planning, cash flow optimization for purchase and financing repayment, planning for capital gain exemption    * Work with clients to assist with areas such as estate planning, US and cross border planning, and work with professional clients that have specific tax needs * Expertly keep up with industry trends. Research and interpret tax legislation and compliance overview such as CDA, foreign reporting, develop strategies, and sharing knowledge and best approaches with the team The Details This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, during core business hours (EST), with extra hours required during the peak season. They offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience.  You will also receive a comprehensive company/performance-based bonus, benefits package, vacation, and a laptop.  You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely from a home office. Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline * CPA designation * Completion of the in-depth Tax Course * 6+ years of progressive public accounting, including high-level tax planning experience and complex tax concepts * Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop team members * Experience with Excel and tax preparation software required * Proven experience working directly with clients Your Application We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
