**What does a great Systems Engineer Staff Do?**
You as a HP-UX System Administrator will be part of an ambitious team responsible for System Installation, Client Support, Consultation and Management of HP-UX (11iv3) and Red Hat Linux Systems running mission critical financial software applications.
**Essential Job Responsibilities** **:**
Product Installation - installation and configuration of operating system and financial software written by Fiserv Client Training - To ensure the intended use of the product or service and realization of benefits expected Process Improvement - You will provide input to improve implementation checklist, process and procedures. Troubleshoot hardware, software, storage and operating system related issues Perform error diagnosis, error remediation, root cause analysis and document findings Perform general system administration including: User management, file system management, performance tuning, system event monitoring, system hardening and security Operating System Patch Management and Support including building of customized patch bundles and associated documentation for client release Respond to client cases regarding HP-UX Administration Part of an On-Call rotation providing 7x24x365 support for internal and client systems Perform other duties as assigned
**Basic Qualifications for Consideration** **:**
+ Support and Administration of HP-UX (11iv3) systems running mission critical applications
+ You will have 3 plus years in Information Technology, product installation/configuration and/or training in the financial service industry or closely related industry experience.
+ You will make decisions based on precedent and solve arising problems using good judgment and experience.
+ Organization and time management skills:
+ You will operate independently with minimal mentorship by management
**Additional Skills/Knowledge** **:**
Experience with HPE Integrity Virtual Machines and Serviceguard Experience with system hardening and standard security guidelines such CIS & PCI Demonstrated project leadership skills Works independently and assists other associates to drive quality and staff development Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Excel and Word experience is required Experience with SAN storage including HPE 3Par, EVA, and MSA series arrays and HPE Data Protector is a plus Red Hat Linux installation and administration experience is a plus Ability and willingness to travel Strong presentation, client management, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required. You will be able work in a high-pressure environment and transition efficiently from project to project and multi-task effectively. You will have effective and clear communication and get along with client staff and management. Has proven skills in organizing and managing tasks and projects Exhibits leadership skills and a professional appearance and demeanor that generates confidence in customers Maintains calm and communication clarity under stress and while executing simultaneous, unrelated activities Able to know the latest on Company products, policies, procedures and system improvements be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are precedents.
**Education:** Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Area of specialization Information Technology or equivalent experience
