We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist for our First Quality Retail Services, LLC located in King of Prussia, PA.
This position will be responsible for assisting in developing, establishing, and maintaining and environmental health and safety program that strives to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements, and provides for a safe work environment that is free of hazards in pursuit of zero work-related injuries/illnesses
Primary responsibilities include:
+ Assist Plant EHS Manager in managing all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety program.
+ Assist in ensuring compliance to all Safe Work Practices, and applicable regulatory standards, as well as, Plant policies and procedures.
+ Research, formulate and deliver safety training presentations for both small and large audiences, hourly and salaried.
+ Deliver EHS orientation to new and temporary team members.
+ Assist in ensuring proper training and compliance to plant EHS policies and procedures involving contractor / vendor personnel.
+ Conduct periodic safety surveys and inspections of work permit application, hazardous energy control (LOTO), contractor job performance, etc. in order to identify potential risks and ensure compliance to Plant policies and procedures.
+ Analyze data and perform trending analysis in order to identify and implement corrective actions as well as assist Plant EHS Manager in developing strategic risk mitigation strategies.
+ Attend / lead safety-related meetings to include Manage Safety Observations Tours (MSOT).
+ Help drive results to FQ goals and objectives as identified annually pertaining to EHS.
+ Provide technical assistance to FQ team members in evaluating new / altered production equipment as well as support equipment for potential hazards.
+ Maintain assorted databases and software programs in support of the EHS Department and Plant EHS initiatives.
+ Provide oversight to Plant's hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, handling and transport program.
+ Research safety equipment for its application and purchase.
+ Assist in personal protective equipment selection and trial as well as to ensure its proper use, maintenance and storage.
+ Assist in workers compensation claim management and return to work programs.Submit workers comp claims.
+ Obtain First Aid / CPR certifications and serve on Plant Emergency Response Team.
+ Maintain Plant's respiratory protection program.
+ Obtain Occupational Hearing Conservation Certification and assist in facilitating the Plant's hearing conservation program.
+ Serve as an EHS Champion in furthering First Qualities "Believe in Zero" culture and chair safety committee meetings.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
+ Minimum of three years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety field
+ Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline.
+ Minimum three years of experience in EHS; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong working knowledge pertaining to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.
+ Knowledge of EPA/DEP, NFPA and ANSI regulations / standards.
+ Excellent verbal and written skills to include technical writing.
+ Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
+ Must be able to interact well at all levels of the organization.
