Commercial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Maintain the physical condition of a portfolio of commercial properties at the direction of the Maintenance and Property Managers.

  • Assist in the diagnosis and repair of the following: intermediate plumbing and electricity, sheet rock, carpentry, pest                    control, roof and gutter repairs, fire suppression systems, and security systems.
  • Handle service requests and repairs which are assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain proper time keeping, work orders, maintenance request records and other reports/logs deemed necessary by management.
  • Adhere to a preventative maintenance program that minimizes emergency repairs and service repairs.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians when work cannot be performed in-house. Coordinate contractor, tenant and management approvals for work orders that require the use of an outside contractor.
  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and other property features to minimize liability concerns.
  • Handle maintenance calls after hours and serve on–call as necessary (shared duty).
  • Maintain positive customer relations.
  • Perform hands-on repairs/maintenance work.
  • Understanding of technology-based systems and the ability to navigate these systems, such as email, Microsoft office, and property maintenance applications on your smart phone.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license – good driving record and current auto insurance with a reliable vehicle.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Have general facilities maintenance knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Will and Can-do Attitude.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • At least 1 year of experience in property maintenance or equivalent field.
