Job Description
Temporary Buyer/Planner
Full Time 7-3:30
$20/hour Depending on Experience

Key Functions:
  • Responsible for assisting in work planning, ensure all materials and equipment for the maintenance team are available to support a highly reliable, safe working environment.
  • Displays an attitude that promotes the concepts of teamwork.
  • Communicates well with all Departments as it translates to parts availability and planned work status.
  • Work directly with vendors, contractors, maintenance and purchasing to assist with planning and prioritizing maintenance work.
  • Determines and requisitions materials needed for work requests.
  • Development of the preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance monitoring programs for all equipment.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (Calem) to effectively manage work to achieve the highest level of efficiency and utilization in the most cost-efficient manner.
  • Works with the Department Manager to adjust the maintenance program to increase plant utilization and/or decrease costs.
  • Assists with plans for major maintenance shutdowns and other project work.
  • Prepares job plans for maintenance work, with safety instructions and special precautions as part of those plans, in standardized business format.
  • Coordinates with purchasing and vendors to ensure parts availability.
  • Maintaining maintenance and equipment records and generates reports such as open work orders, past due work orders, completed work orders, labor utilization by work order type, equipment historical cost analysis, etc.
  • Helps to identify critical spare parts stocked inventory.
  • Works with Department Manager to develop daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance schedules.
  • Tracks maintenance team member efficiency and job completion rates.
  • Controls all aspects of inventory from Calem system using reports and daily usage sheets to establish reorder points and levels of stock in parts room.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Parts Department.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
  • Candidate must be very strong in Microsoft Excel and proficient in use of other standard Microsoft Office products.
  • Can coordinate and prioritize purchasing, planning, and maintenance work with production requirements.
  • Will accept assignments and can work several assignments simultaneously and effectively.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well under pressure.
  • Willing to work any time in order to meet company needs, including nights and weekends, and holidays if necessary.
Preferred Skills:
  • Has prior maintenance planning experience.
  • Has utilized a computer maintenance management system consisting of work orders, preventative maintenance, equipment records, purchasing, parts and materials specification, and spares; Calem experience preferred.
  • Excellent teaming and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and welding trades.
  • Prior work experience in a food/beverage manufacturing facility (ideally a bottling facility).
  • Interest and willingness to work toward advanced maintenance positions in the facility and/or with the company
