Reports To: Director of Analytics Firehouse Subs® is one of the nation’s leading fast-casual restaurant chains with a commitment to and passion for hearty and flavorful food, heartfelt service, and public safety.  Providing support for more than 1,200 Firehouse Subs restaurants in 45 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada. The Firehouse Subs® Reporting & Analytics Department is an exciting, fast-paced, and high-energy environment, and we are currently seeking a Manager of Marketing Analytics to join our team.  The candidate to fulfill the role of Manager of Marketing Analytics where they will assist the Reporting & Analytics team with interpreting and analyzing data specific to marketing campaigns and initiatives through the creation of reports and production of analyses.

Essential functions:  
  • Produce analysis and analytical reporting on sales, menu items, and other key metrics from a variety of data sources while effectively communicating the story behind the results, asking “why” questions about the results and investigating where appropriate 
  • Act as the primary liaison between Reporting & Analytics department and the Marketing department
  • Manipulate raw data exported from SQL Server or business intelligence (BI) platform into a useable format and structure within Microsoft Excel to create reports, or to support analysis that delivers key insights
  • Manage and maintain reoccurring reports and analyses, including:
    • Weekly analysis of net sales, marketing promotions, guest experience, and menu mix performance
    • Analysis of LTO or product test performance
    • Quarterly analysis of marketing initiatives
  • Provide recommendations for systemwide pricing and cost analyses of requested initiatives
  • Eventually manage an analyst 
  • Produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Generate charts, graphs and other data visualizations of trends and insights using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Create aesthetically pleasing and polished presentation materials, based on analysis, for department head and Executive Team’s review
  • Distribute reports and analyses through emails, webinars, or meetings to an audience ranging from novice to executive level
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of company and restaurant industry trends
  • Become a “Power User” of vendor platforms and leverage data from multiple sources including our in-house BI platform, loyalty program, online ordering, and other industry-related data collected via consumer surveys
  • Continual validation and assessment of the integrity of data used within reports and analyses
  • Help increase efficiencies of the department by sharing the workload and being able to produce accurate, reliable work independently

Work environment:  As a hybrid position, this position is performed both in-office and remotely in a home office condition.

Physical demands:  The physical demands of the job include bending and sitting.

Position type and expected hours of work:  This is a full-time position that functions both in-office and remotely Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm EST

Required education and experience:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or other relevant field
  • 3+ years of analytics experience 
  • Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (including complex formulas and pivot tables)
  • Intermediate PowerPoint skills 
  • Basic/Intermediate experience with SQL server (including writing or editing SQL queries and data mining)
  • An eye for aesthetics and highly values quality of end product
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation 
  • Excellent problem solving and demonstrates abilities in learning new skills
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities
Preferred education and experience:
  • Restaurant or retail experience highly preferred 
  • Ability to coach, counsel, and inspire the Executive Team with actionable insights
