Pharmacy Podcast Network and Medika.Life - both operate as part of FINN and, at the same time, maintain editorial independence. FINN is dedicated to providing a platform for those committed to the health sector and accurate information for consumers that enables them to engage actively in their well-being and health needs. These two information platforms each reach more than 100,000 active community members monthly.
To support these efforts, FINN is seeking an intern to serve as an editorial assistant to help with a dynamic, hands-on opportunity in journalism.
OPPORTUNITY:
To support Medika.Life, FINN seeks a journalism student for a paid internship. In this role, the "Intern Editorial Assistant" will work with the FINN Global Health Chair and assist in the following activities:
The position will work directly with the FINN Chair Global Health, Gil Bashe, who champions the needs of these two platforms, serves as Medika.Life editor-in-chief, who also authors its health policy and issues column.
REQUIREMENTS:
FINN MENTORSHIP:
Gil Bashe will serve as the educator and guide during the internship. Gil is a former Rutgers University School of Communications Adjunct, and is an accessible and skilled guide. If the student's college/university also supports intern academic credits, he will be ready to handle the paperwork required as an academic supervisor. He sees colleagues at all stages of their career journey as partners in the work.

OPPORTUNITY:
To support Medika.Life, FINN seeks a journalism student for a paid internship. In this role, the "Intern Editorial Assistant" will work with the FINN Global Health Chair and assist in the following activities:
- Review and proof authors' submissions for posting to the Medika.Life platform
- Help manage the WordPress structured site
- Prepare social media copy to draw readership to the platform's editorial content
- Select industry-wide - innovation-focused and not-for-profit organization - press releases that match the site's non-promotional mandate for upload
- Suggest their article ideas and submit copy under their byline
The position will work directly with the FINN Chair Global Health, Gil Bashe, who champions the needs of these two platforms, serves as Medika.Life editor-in-chief, who also authors its health policy and issues column.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a current USA-based college/university junior or senior-year student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising/ Creative or Digital Marketing.
- Exhibit proven editing and writing skills with an interest in health, wellness and/or science journalism
- Recognize that media is moving more and more toward digital platforms and using different paths to attract and retain readership and think about ways to engage new readership audiences.
