Job Description

Jr. Geospatial Intelligence Analyst will be supporting a production team in McLean, Virginia. This position is a great opportunity to hone your skills as an analyst in the Intelligence Community and work with specialized datasets. This position is on-site where you will work at either the McLean or Chantilly locations. As a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst, you will assist in providing support to exploitation, intelligence analysis, and product development, interact with other analysts, mission partners and others on analytical functionality and exploitation and related support tools. You will work with varied data sources to author Geospatial Intelligence products. Product types include, but are not limited to, vector data, raster image data, raster map data, terrain/elevation data, hardcopy maps/charts and specialized analysis-based products. You will read and be required to comprehend intelligence issues, military affairs and use geographic information systems (GIS) to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products on these topics. Additional daily activities include creation and maintenance of project data, imagery manipulation (including generation of stereo pairs), ensuring that backups are made of all data on a daily basis, performing in-process quality checks (IQC) on own work and as well as others and generating plots of vector data/contours for QC and display purposes. In this job you will:

  • Work with imagery and non-imagery data sources to author assessments and make recommendations to Warfighters and policy makers.
  • Be familiar with the necessary data standards and format types to develop multi-int intelligence reports.
  • Collaborate with a high performing team of subject matter experts and work together to present analytical assessments and reports of processed data.
  • Conduct independent and team-related geospatial analysis, and reporting using traditional GEOINT data and non-traditional GEOINT data in order to obtain enhanced intelligence findings and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of analysis.
  • Identify, develop, and submit collection requirements to support answering key intelligence questions or operational support.
  • Compile, segregate, evaluate, research, interpret, analyze, and disseminate intelligence information to answer key intelligence questions or for operational support.
  • Contribute as directed, in performing geospatial analysis and present results in the form of datasets, visualization, and models for inclusion in non-standard and formal intelligence analysis products, such as Remarks, GN's, Cables, and NIBs.
  • Prepare, maintain, and present intelligence displays, reports, and briefings with the creation and use of visual aids (graphs, charts, etc.) and drafting, editing, and proofreading documents for publishing.
  • Work rapidly in a high tempo, high stress environment that often requires multi-tasking

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Applied Science field or 5 years relevant job experience
  • Demonstrated relevant experience with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetry.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience using RemoteView, ArcGIS, Socet GXP
  • Demonstrated relevant experience working with large structured data sets
  • Demonstrated relevant experience reading and understanding intelligence issues, military affairs, and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems.
  • Attended a basic Intelligence Course
  • An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Demonstrated relevant experience utilizing GEOINT within the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated relevant experience working cross-IC projects within the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated relevant experience conducting data mining using IC databases, open-source reporting and other intelligence sources within the past 3 years
  • Demonstrated relevant experience working with intelligence organizations and systems; collection and reporting systems, intelligence information sources; techniques of identifying, collating, evaluating, and analyzing information within the past 3 year
