Jobs Work Program Good Start Truck Mentor

Job Summary:

The Jobs Work Program Mentor must have strong time management skills, enjoys food prep, is creative and works with great enthusiasm in the organization. They will need to bring a passion for food trucks and events, have lots of energy, enjoy customer service and work with young adults.

Hours: Preferred every Sunday at Wheeler Farm Market from 7 am to 4 pm, between May to October. Remaining time varies depending on event and location, monthly event schedule is set with Assistant Director or Jobs Work Program (JWP) Coordinator. Can be up to 24-29 hours per week.

Salary: $14-$17 based on experience

*Must pass annual Criminal Background Check *Must be eligible to work in the United States Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee weekly cleaning operations at food truck and commercial kitchen, and monthly deep cleaning with Assistant Director and JWP Coordinator.
  • Plan and coordinate purchase of food supplies for events.
  • Work closely with JWP Coordinator to provide new staff training and orientation.
  • Ensure food truck staff members follow proper sanitation procedures and safety standards while food is being cooked.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Help maintain required records including food production, inventory, income/expense, meal counts and personnel records.
  • Help JWP Coordinator preside over food truck adult employees; including cooks, food preparers, cashiers, and other employees.
  • Prepare and serve the food.
  • Respond to customer preferences and complaints if applicable.
  • Set / make sure prices are correct for each product on the menu at events.
  • Coordinate with FFCU Management on maintaining records, timesheets, and complete paperwork to comply with laws and regulations if applicable.
  • Be a team player.
  • Coordinate cleaning dishes during and after events (pots, pans and the like).
  • Be able to work under pressure during a busy lunch rush in fast-paced tight quarters while maintaining the highest food/ product quality.
  • And other assigned duties.

Preferred:

  • Has 1 year or more of professional cooking experience as a short order cook or has worked on a food truck.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have reliable transportation.
