Job Description


The Safety & Quality Manager role is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s quality management system (QMS) and maintaining its certification.  The role will consist of a mixture of quality assurance and control initiatives along with foreign and domestic supplier quality development and customer compliance.  The Safety & Quality Manager will be the subject matter expert in everything “quality” and “safety” and will work closely with the company’s executive team to enforce the QMS & Safety policies to all departments.  The role will develop corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs. This position will also monitor safety and health regulations and provide technical support to supporting locations and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.


·      Establishes, maintains, and continuous improvement of the QMS, Safety & Health Program, and associated programs, policies, processes, and procedures 

·      Leads ISO 9001:2015 certification and on-going recertification activities 

·      Understands ISO 9001:2015, federal and state occupational safety and health regulations (OSHA), and monitors regulatory changes as they occur 

·      Plans, conducts, and reviews internal quality audits and safety audits of records and practices on a recurring basis, to ensure compliance with ISO Standards and Federal & State OSHA regulations 

·      Maintains compliance with customer requirements such as REACH, RoHS, special packaging, APQP, PPAP, etc. 

·      Promotes and participates in Safety and Quality awareness, education, and transparency through use of internal company communication platforms and training programs 

·      Risk and opportunity management for product quality, and manages defects and remediation 

·      Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and assists HR with worker’s compensation claims 

·      Manages and reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary 

·      Manages Safety & Quality projects and ensure that projects are completed within budget, scope and timeframe 

·      Develop and manage the Safety & Quality Department budget 

·      Develops, tracks, and trends Safety & Quality objectives and KPIs 

·      Facilitate Management Review meetings 

·      Work closely with leadership across all business departments (i.e., Sales, Operations, Administration) 

·      Responsible for all other duties, as assigned 



·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a Safety or Quality position (Required) 

·         ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training (Required, or to be obtained within 6 months) 

·         Six Sigma Certification (Required, or to be obtained within 12 months) 

·         OSHA 30 Hour Training (Required, or to be obtained within 12 months) 

·         ASQ Certifications, such as: Manger of Quality / Organizational Excellence, Quality Auditor, etc., (Preferred) 

·         Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or other safety certification (Preferred) 



·         4 year (Minimum) Implementing and/or managing ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent Quality Management System (Required) 

·         3 year (Minimum) Implementing and/or managing Safety program (Preferred) 

·         ERP Experience (Required)

·         Aptness to read, analyze and interpret technical related data

·         Strong written and oral communication skills

·         Creativity in approaching complex challenges and problems

·         Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles

·         Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the capability to clearly communicate and articulate information to team members, customers, and vendors with differing communication styles

·         Capability to elicit cooperation and quality information from a wide variety of stakeholders

·         Must be able to learn, understand and apply new quality strategies

·         Intermediate level ability in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
