Job Description

Farrel Corporation is looking for a Technical and Commercial Purchasing Agent to work at our Company! The Technical and Commercial Purchasing Agent will be responsible for the procurement and management of the supplier base for OEM equipment and machine components and services in alignment with Farrel cost, delivery and quality requirements.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:

·         Read and understand drawings, specifications, and all engineering related documents to ensure components are manufactured and received in accordance with Farrel standards

·         Prepare requests for quotations, review purchase requisitions, and evaluate quotes from suppliers

·         Create and place Purchase Orders for goods and services while ensuring terms and conditions and shipping and quality requirements are appropriately documented and communicated to the vendors

·         Review purchase orders for content and accuracy

·         Work with suppliers to clarify drawing specifications and methods for manufacturing

·         Resolve discrepancies existing between the purchase order details and the supplier order acknowledgement

·         Ensure that components and services are purchased in alignment with the quality standards, specifications, and delivery requirements

·         Expedite vendor deliverables as required

·         Responsible for investigating and resolving supplier discrepancies with respect to the quality and delivery of purchased components

·         Develop corrective actions in conjunction with the quality department in order to meet Farrel specifications

·         Maintain procurement records to accurately document supplier lead times, product quality, and overall vendor delivery performance

·         Coordinate purchasing activities with intercompany departments

·         Evaluate and adapt to economic changes or conditions that may impact purchased components

·         Develop potential new sources of supply and strategies for procurement

·         Travel as required

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in technical, engineering, or manufacturing field or business administration required.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word

·         SAP/ERP system experience

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation

·         Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and machine tools.

·         Skills in strategic market analysis
