Location: Norwich, KS or Manhattan, KS
Summary of Position:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all activities related to accounting for the corporation. This person will supervise the daily activities in the accounting department, analyze, record, track and audit financial information and manage accounting staff employees. Also responsible for cash management and ensuring compliance with GAAP.
+ Oversee, manage and/or perform the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
+ Perform month-end closing activities
+ Lead and execute quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial audit
+ Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
+ Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
+ Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
+ Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
+ Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
+ Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
+ Travel to partner location as necessary, based on home office location.
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
+ Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
+ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
+ Efficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
+ CPA or Master's degree in Accountancy
+ Proficiency with Infor financial system
+ Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
