Director of Growth Marketing 

Farmhouse is looking for a growth-driven, creative, and highly organized self-starter to join our team and lead our small but mighty Marketing & Sales team at our Austin HQ. The Director of Growth Marketing & Sales will be responsible for developing strategic plans positioned around acquisition, retention, and promotions. You will oversee a team of four: a marketing manager, a corporate sales manager, a brand photographer, a social media manager, and additional contractors/agencies. 


  • Performance Marketing Channels: You will be responsible for developing and implementing cohesive, full-funnel strategies across performance marketing channels, paid and organic, including but not limited to search, email, SMS, social media, affiliates, and YouTube. You will work with our internal team and external partners to implement strategies and tactics that will drive performance and achieve growth goals. 
  • Drive Sales Pipeline: You will be responsible for building and managing a multi-channel sales process, including developing the best approach with direct, indirect, corporate, events, fundraising, and door-to-door programs. 
  • Customer Retention and Loyalty Strategy: You will be responsible for building, measuring, identifying, and implementing new solutions to improve customer happiness, loyalty, and retention. 
  • Brand Strategy: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to oversee all digital and physical touchpoints, communicating our story through compelling content across many mediums (video, imagery, landing pages) and channels (Facebook, display ads, radio, print). 
  • Website Strategy: You will oversee the website strategy working with internal team members and external partners to ensure our site’s look and feel is up to date and on-brand and that we are continuously improving website functionality through a test and learn approach. 
  • Forecasting and Budget Management: You will be responsible for forecasting and managing yearly and monthly budgets, ensuring strong fiscal oversight. 
  • Reporting and Analytics: You will be responsible for providing regular comprehensive reports in all areas of responsibility, including but not limited to performance marketing channels, website strategy, and customer retention.
  • Manage a Lean Team: You will coach and inspire a combination of in-house team members and consultants.

Content Creation & Brand Marketing

  • Own marketing calendar inclusive of content by channel & omni-channel execution to drive brand awareness, acquisition and retention
  • Partner with vendors, farmers, and ranchers to create meaningful content
  • Determine all social and email marketing content strategies 
  • Build relationships with influencers to drive organic content distribution
  • Work closely with the our corporate sales manager to identify regional events (both digital and in person) to increase acquisitions and brand ethos around Texas

Oversee Agency Partners and Paid Media Performance

  • Manage relationship with our Facebook/Google agency, to analyze performance, creative and optimizations
  • Manage Facebook catalog to ensure it’s up to date with latest products
  • Monitor and analyze Google Analytics to determine site and channel performance

Establish a sales process and pipeline

  • Develop sales organization and process to drive new customer growth and manage existing accounts
  • Identify best practices and partners to stand up and manage new sales channels such as school fundraising and door-to-door canvassing 
  • Forecast, design, and meet acquisition goals by channel developing quota and commission structures

Monitor and Optimize against KPIs

  • Monitor weekly revenue and marketing KPIs to hit company goals
  • Lead direction and budget management with the digital marketing associate to make sure paid media is being executed effectively and driving results
  • Monitor media budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results vs forecasts
  • Execute market research within and around our servicing markets in Texas as well as staying up to date on industry trends 

Work alongside internal Buying and Customer Service teams

  • Create and ideate with the grocery, produce, and meat buying teams to onboard vendors and products relevant to our target audience 
  • Working with Customer Service to implement surprise & delight, gifting and other retention programs
  • Work alongside the customer service team to optimize CRM channels and analyze results to drive continuous improvement in engagement metrics

Manage e-commerce website

  • Work alongside the E-Commerce Manager to optimize the shopping experience and have a strong customer user flow.

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications/Advertising or similar field required 
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and sales required 
  • Early stage, entrepreneurial driven experience preferred, but not required.
  • An entrepreneurial drive and motivation to achieve rapid results 
  • Ability to see and run the marketing department from a 5,000 and 50,000 ft view 
  • Digitally savvy & expert/fluent in digital marketing channels (PPC, Paid Social, and Google Analytics)
  • Proficiency in Google Applications (sheets, docs & forms)
  • Experience in project management programs such as Trello, Asana, and Slack
  • Passionate about the local food economy
  • Experience in food and beverage operations or restaurant/retail marketing preferred
