The Financial Officer (FO) is a sales position primarily responsible for building relationships in the ag production market segment. Using your knowledge of agriculture and finance to understand the customer's or prospect's business and personal plans, you will market the financial services that best meet their needs.
You will be responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of each customer's and prospect's current financial position and operation. Identify customer needs and appropriately sell Farm Credit Mid-America's core products while building strong working relationships. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and our credit standards and procedures.

This position can be based out of Lafayette or Williamsport.
Major Responsibilities:
+ Sales and Relationship Management: In this position you will:
Build and maintain a significant professional presence that yields increased sales in the assigned territory. Most of your time will be out of the office building professional relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
Use an understanding of customer goals, credit strengths and weaknesses to deliver "value added"/constructive agricultural and financial information that will assist them in their farming businesses.
You will determine the appropriate customer interaction and coordinates the appropriate staff that may directly or indirectly be a part of the relationship to serve the loans, leases, crop insurance and servicing needs.
Introduce customers to our process and the retail service team that will support it.
+ Deliver Sound Credit: Through a consultative relationship, you will:
Interpret and evaluate financial information and ask appropriate follow-up and probing questions to recommend the appropriate product or service, loan terms, conditions, and collateral position consistent with the request and associated loan risks
Set clear expectations with the customer, document pertinent information in our system and communicate credit decisions, loan terms, options and conditions.
+ Service Portfolio: In order to appropriately support the customer, you will partner with team members to complete servicing actions, monitor the portfolio for timely identification and service loans that expose the association to risk.
+ You will represent and communicate the mission and values of the Association and abide by its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality expectations.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business or related degree. At least 1 year of successful experience, in trainee role or in a similar field. Generally competent with routine customers who have basic product needs.
