Family Office with a wide variety of investments, including private equity, marketable securities, real estate, and other ventures, needs a Accounting Manager with a CPA to manage the accounting for all investments and to prepare the financial statements for tax purposes. The candidate must be an effective problem solver with excellent judgment, great interpersonal skills, a high sense of urgency and be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. This critical role will also provide cash flow forecasting and planning, tax filing support and investment due diligence.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create and maintain timely investment portfolio tracking and reporting
  • Provide monthly details and analyses of the gains/losses from investments
  • Maintain accurate record of investments held, ownership percentages and tracking of distributions and future capital calls
  • Perform bookkeeping and bank and brokerage account reconciliations
  • Prepare individual entity and consolidated monthly and annual financial statements
  • Create investment reporting calendar and coordinate timing of inputs and outputs
  • Ensure all deadlines are met and reports are accurate
  • Evaluate Accounting and Investment Management systems and recommend changes as needed
  • Support due diligence efforts for future investments


  • Develop robust financial models for cash flow, expense management and pro forma scenarios to provide comprehensive financial insights and recommendations
  • Provide monthly detailed cash flow and expense analyses
  • Prepare cash flow projections and expense budgets
  • Coordinate cash management activities with other Family Office members


  • Work with external tax accountants to prepare and review federal and state tax returns
  • Identify and implement process improvements for establishing and monitoring tax planning strategies


  • Ensure Family’s personal financial information is protected and internal controls are strong
  • Oversee payroll for Family’s domestic employees
  • Prepare 1099s as needed
  • Provide support with various Family expense projects
  • Support entire Family Office team with other projects, as necessary


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 5-7 years relevant work experience
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Family Office accounting, Individual Tax experience and previous dealings with high net worth individuals is beneficial
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), QuickBooks and Investment Management Software
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including creating pro forma analyses
  • Exceptional organizational skills, project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make solid decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information related to Family’s assets and financial positions
  • Ability to work independently
