Technical Director

Family Christian Center is a non-denominational church of over 12,000 people and is the home of the theatrical company Refuge Productions. We have large annual stage productions, host concerts and events, conduct illustrated sermons for the church with well over with over 500 cast/bts, use live animals in all of our show and have state of the art audio and lighting and special effect equipment. We are upgrading our production department and we are in search of qualified candidates that can lead well in a Christian non-profit organization.

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee and all aspects of our theatrical and service production team. This includes, but not limited to theatrical lighting, audio (for in house and broadcast), broadcast, stage management etc. You will be responsible for stage productions, television broadcasts, weekly services and special events. At least 5 years experience in both stage and television is required and the ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency can set you apart among our candidate pool. A great candidate will be able to recruit, train and lead volunteers. You should have a spirit of excellence, positivity and create an atmosphere of high morale, high productivity and efficiency. We are a fast paced, high level ministry and our focus in all we do is to reach, build and establish the kingdom of God.

Requirements

A strong contender for the role should have excellent written and verbal communication and have strong leadership and management capabilities.

Bachelors of Arts in a related field is recommended or 5 years management experience in related field

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Maintain a culture of honor, respect, excellence in communication and execution of all aspects of the department that are inline with the vision of the ministry.

Develop and cultivate relationships with the community eg. surrounding ministries, schools and community theater companies and other collaborators.

Provide oversight to Service Production, Broadcast, Lighting/Sound, technical and special effects departments

Help develop stage designs and implement new technical changes with Pastors and Directors

To work with the creative team to establish and develop strategic artistic collaborations, partnerships and joint projects and develop long-term strategic relationships with partners to extend our reach

Provide oversight, guidance, discipleship, growth opportunities for each volunteer department director and schedule and train volunteers for weekday/weekend services, productions, events and community collaborations.

Recruit, manage, train all directors and volunteers within the ministry

Responsible for the quality of the show itself since they have worked with the crew every day to ensure the various directors' visions have been realized and ensure that everyone works safely.

Create a fun for environment while maintaining a high level of excellence and accountability.

Ensure Code of Conduct, policy and procedure are being implemented

Set appropriate financial targets, with the Financial Dept, and manage budgets in order to achieve these.

Marketing and Communication:

Work with the marketing team to deliver audiences and press coverage for all service, productions and events

To supply up to date information to the Marketing team for use on all marketing and press inforamtion

To ensure the weekly, productions, and events achieve a high profile through flagging up potential creative campaign ideas to the Marketing department.
