Falcon IT hasan immediate need for a Payroll Accountant to work in Arlington, VA . This position is remote during Covid-19 . Managing and performing all phases of the payroll process from timesheet collection, to review, and edits prior to transmitting payroll Providing timesheet training and guidance to new and existing employees Setup new employee profiles in Unanet Review, attain approval and process all payables within 10 business days Monitoring electronic timesheets and contacting department supervisors and/or employees for missing timesheets and/or corrections Reconciles payroll account balances (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, benefits, voluntary and involuntary contributions, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines Processing employees' PTO payout requests Processing HSA and 401K contribution payments; obtaining overtime approvals; coordinating with HR to ensure employee data is entered accurately Assisting with AAP compliance and reporting Reviewing downloaded information for completeness and accuracy Resolving payroll discrepancies by proactively collecting and analyzing information Compiling payroll data (wages, garnishments, PTO, insurance, 401(k) deductions etc.) Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations and taxation, including those related to employee benefits Ensure monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting for federal and multiple state agencies are filed accurately and on time Ensure tax entities are filed appropriately; preparing various forms and associated filings; compiling various internal management reports; assisting with and supporting various audits; and generating payroll reports to include monthly, quarterly, year-end, and ad-hoc reporting Requirements Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline 3+ years of similar work experience Minimum 3 years’ experience as a payroll administrator for a Federal contractor Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Unanet Admin required Minimum 2 years’ experience processing payroll for a company with more than 100 employees Federal government contracting experience required Intermediate MS Excel skills such as pivot tables, filters, sumifs, and Vlookups Solid understanding of payroll best practices Experience with journal entries preferred DCAA compliance experience preferred Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail Excellent communication skills Strong customer-focused attitude This role is remote until during COVID-19 Benefits
The Payroll Accountant will contribute to the overall success of the accounting department by performing all duties and responsibilities as assigned, supporting payroll processing and any/all other supporting activities related to payroll processing, performing all accounts payable tasks and setting up employees in our DCAA complaint time tracking system (Unanet).
