We are based in Oakland, California, with a global presence and team members around the world. Positions may be based at our Oakland, California (Bay Area) location, or remotely across USA locations.




Position Summary

The HR & Talent Acquisition Partner is a new role to join our People & Culture team and will work in close collaboration with HR team partners and as a point of contact for all employees and people managers, in providing engaging, inclusive, and best-practice people-first support for all aspects of people operations, with a focus on talent acquisition (recruitment lifecycle).

The HR Partner will provide both specialist support in key areas of Talent Acquisition, and generalist support in all other aspects of the employee life cycle. This is an exciting time to join our team, as we grow our People & Culture department and support breakthrough growth for Fair Trade USA, heightening our impact for the global communities we serve.




This role will work report to the Head of People & Culture, and work cross-functionally with people managers, employees at all levels and in key partnership with colleagues across the People & Culture team including Human Resources, Administration and Facilities functions.




Key Responsibilities


Lead, manage and coordinate the end-to-end talent acquisition process for multiple positions at all levels, including sourcing, interviewing, offer, hiring and pre-boardng
Act as a trusted HR Partner to employees and people managers, and coach, guide and lead hiring teams through all aspects of Talent Acquisition planning
Creatively and equitably source candidates via multiple sourcing channels, maintain a strong pipeline of talent, and build an excellent candidate experience for all
Data-driven recruiting - discovery of meaningful patterns in our data to support decision-making related to recruitment and onboarding processes, activities, and outcomes. Utilize people-related data to drive strategic decision making and solutions
Support People Operations lifecycle and framework, including contributing to the seamless execution of Annual Planning, Performance Management Cycles, Learning & Development cycles.
Identify and contribute to programs and processes across the People & Culture team, and may take ownership of specialized HR projects and advance them to successful completion
Leverage excellent written and verbal communication, leadership skills, and unquestioned integrity to lead and influence stakeholders. Challenge assumptions to identify root causes as to offer the best solutions for HR related issues.
Coach people managers and employees through ER and leading by example in a way that is consistent and thoughtful with Fair Trade USA’s values-based and performance-driven culture
Be a vocal and solutions-focused champion of fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce and culture of belonging at all levels of the organization

Key Qualifications / Experience
Strong working knowledge and experience in executing talent acquisition best practices in a fast-paced environment
Must be technologically adept, highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, data analytics software and effectively leveraging HRIS / Recruiting platforms and tools
Experience in multiple HR disciplines including workforce planning and administration, HRIS, org design, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, employment law, DEI, Learning & Development are also key advantages
Relevant professional or academic qualifications (SPHR, PHR etc. or Bachelor’s / Master’s in HRM, Organizational Development etc.) may be an advantage but are not required. We will consider relevant professional experience in lieu of education / qualifications and we welcome applicants who may not meet all qualifications identified but who may otherwise have developed the key competencies for this position
