Job Description

We are a newly established, boutique, and luxury Facial Cosmetic Surgery practice opening in DUMBO, Brooklyn. We are ground level-medical retail, aiming for wide exposure and fast-paced growth. Looking for a Certified Medical Assistant who will also serve as an effective, eloquent, and personable patient care specialist with strong communication and customer service skills to manage "front" office responsibilities. Experience in facial cosmetic/plastic surgery is desirable, however willing to train the right candidate with strong multi-tasking skills.  2 years minimum experience as a Medical Assistant is required.

Specific Job Tasks:

· Promoting a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of patient care.

· Serving as a professional, courteous, and dedicated Patient Care Specialist and Medical Assistant.

· Demonstrating a commitment to service, organizational values and professionalism through appropriate conduct, dress, verbal manner and demeanor.

· Demonstrating an ability to multi-task and work under a stressful environment, while assisting and supporting other team members, as needed.

· Demonstrating honesty, integrity, and total transparency with other staff members.

 

· Greeting patients and preparing them for office visits pursuant to the Practice policies.

· Screening patients for appropriate information and readiness for cosmetic treatment.

· Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient office and surgery center appointments and booking, including communicating with the surgery center, according to Practice protocol.

· Answering incoming phone calls and attending to Practice voicemails.

· Following proper patient check-in and check-out protocols, including collecting patient payments, cash drawer duties, and facilitating end-of-day reports.

· Confirming accuracy of all information provided and entered into the office system regarding patient care and patient information.

· Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times

 

· Assisting, from time to time, at the reasonable request of the Practice, with office opening and closing procedures.

· Directly assisting physician/surgeon and staff in providing patient care for all in-office nonsurgical and surgical procedures.

· Counseling patients for cosmetic surgery procedures, including providing pre-care and post-care instructions, transmitting physician’s orders and/or prescriptions, as needed, and pursuant to Practice policies.

· Participating in office-based safety and compliance training for equipment, lasers, products, and any other professional services offered by Practice.

· Performing sterile instrument processing duties according to Practice protocols.

· Preparing rooms before and after patient treatments, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order and preparing a list of any supplies that are required.

· Sending, receiving, and archiving digital forms and/or policies to patients.

· Maintaining up-to-date electronic documents in the electronic medical records system, including but not limited to filing and organizing said information.

 

· Demonstrating a team player and energetic attitude, with outstanding organizational skills.

· Assisting with marketing endeavors, including but not limited, social media marketing for Practice.

· Becoming knowledgeable of healthcare administrative systems, billing, HIPAA and OSHA policies, pursuant to the federal, state and local law and the Practice policies.

· Participating in team meetings at the reasonable request of the Practice.

· Updating job-related knowledge by active on-site training

We are seeking a highly-motivated, intelligent, friendly, and detail oriented part-time Certified Medical Assistant and Patient Care Specialist to become part of our growing team! Excellent communication skills, prior experience, and a flexible schedule are key. Work hours 2-3 days per week, Mondays - Fridays; typical sift is 8AM-5PM. Prior exposure to facial cosmetic procedures (injectables, lasers, skincare, and/or facial cosmetic surgical procedures) is required. Training on site will be provided. Part-Time positions will be able to transition to full-time with office growth. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a luxury team that is bringing something new to DUMBO, Brooklyn.
