Director of Marketing

FUNNY WATER is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead all promotional initiatives for the brand. This individual will oversee the development and execution of 360º marketing campaigns and state launches across social channels, CRM/email, OOH, retail, website, events, and influencer partnerships.

The Director of Marketing will be expected to prioritize efforts and harmonize activities supporting while protecting the brand’s standards and spirit. They will guide decisions for marketing investments by analyzing and summarizing historical performance data and successfully hitting agreed-upon KPIs.

We are seeking a team player with a true entrepreneurial spirit and a deep understanding of how marketing initiatives impact planning, merchandising, retail stores, fulfillment, and partnerships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage marketing and creative resources toward the execution of all programs.
  • Schedule content creation deadlines and needs across all digital channels and campaigns, including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Lead all event marketing and sampling initiatives
  • Oversee all POS material development and refreshes
  • Prepare marketing campaign briefs with clear objectives, goals, and stakeholders.
  • Lead on local marketing initiatives for state rollouts and support
  • Analyze customer data to define digital customer segments and digital strategies to acquire each
  • Support the recruitment of resources when and where needed
  • Manage the marketing budget including forecasting, reconciling expenses, and annual budget planning
  • Measure and optimize ad spend (ROAS) across a wide range of performance media, including Google Ads, retargeting, paid social placements, YouTube ads, and others.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including e-commerce, retail, creative, merchandising, and fulfillment to understand campaign impacts, contingencies, and alignment with company goals
  • Own post-program and monthly summaries to document and share learnings.
  • Stay up to date on marketing and industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging marketing channels


  • 5+ years experience in digital marketing with 2+ years of managing direct reports
  • Deep experience in Google Analytics or similar digital monitoring tools
  • Experience working in the Food/Bev or CPG retail sector with a focus on North America
  • Experience with marketing fundamentals of audience measurement, segmentation, and targeting
  • Past ownership of customer acquisition campaigns for online/digital brand
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly shift gears and manage changing priorities
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to make the complex simple
