FI Consulting is seeking a Software Developer to work in application development in our Arlington, VA Headquarters and throughout the Metro DC area on client projects.

This hands-on developer will be in charge of updating or re-writing data pull scripts in order to update the process from an on-prem data consumption to an on-cloud data consumption. The developer will work as one person in a team of 4. They will closely collaborate with a Business Analyst to chart the project's workflow and with Quality Assurance testers to validate the output of the new code against legacy code.

  • Experience developing software in Python
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with AWS Services such as EMR, Glue, Lambda Function etc.
  • Experience with creating ETL applications
  • Experience with version control tools like Git, SVN
  • Ability to understand existing Python/SQL code and create a Proof of Concept process
  • Familiarity with the Agile methodology and good communications skills
  • Self-starter able to quickly get up to speed
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Secure and protect company and client data and information and prevent its improper disclosure.
  • Overall delivery of software components working in collaboration with product and design teams
  • Collaborating with other technology teams to ensure integrated end-to-end design and integration.
  • Enforcing existing process guidelines; drives new processes, guidelines, team rules, and best practices.
  • Full participation in the Agile Scrum process including speaking up and giving your opinion.
  • Ready, willing, and able to pick up new technologies and pitch in on story tasks (design, code, test, CI/CD, deploy, etc)
  • Able to research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring knowledge to the team
  • Secure and protect company and client data and information and prevent its improper disclosure.

Additional Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the United States as a permanent resident or US Citizen. We are not able to sponsor or accept any visa holders at this time including OPT, H1B, EAD.
  • Successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Reside in the DC Metro area within 30 days of hire.
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID 19. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they have received either a single-dose vaccine or the second dose in a two-dose series.
