The company currently operates its eCommerce headquarters and distribution out of Milford, CT where it currently has 220 employees, 105,000 sq. ft of distribution and fulfillment, and $25 million of inventory. The company has plans for physical expansion into the Southwest US (Arizona) and Southeast US (Florida) over the next 24 months and is looking for procurement/supply chain leadership and managerial talent to support both the geographic and inventory expansion plans.
Job Summary
The Supply Chain & Purchasing Director will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process at FCP Euro which includes overseeing planning, sourcing, vendor management, purchasing operations, inventory coordination, data management, and continuous improvement within the division.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in heading and leading supply chain strategies and inventory management across multiple facilities. They have the rare talent where they can be strong in areas such as negotiation however have the ability to create and foster great relationships both internally and externally. They are data-driven, attentive to details, and have a track record of success developing and managing teams and inventory strategies.
This position reports directly to Nick Bauer, the President, and Founder, and requires the individual to be on-site at corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities and Duties as Supply Chain & Purchasing Director
- Provides leadership across all functions within the purchasing and supply chain division
Planning
Owns and implements proper inventory demand planning across FCP Euros facilities
Owns and optimizes FCP Euros forecasting processes for inventory across multiple facilities
Works with the Finance team to develop cash forecasting models for inventory requirements
Coordinates and implements best practices for new product development with the Catalog Team
Coordinates and implements proper staffing levels across the division
Develops and implements recruiting strategies for the division to attract top talent
Develops and executes strategic plans for inventory requirements for future facilities
Sourcing
Owns the process for setting up and identifying new suppliers
Develops and executes the process for bringing new products to the organization
Develops best practices for contract pricing on our top items
Implements process for RFPs on top selected items
Develops and enhances supply chain by strategically bringing the Grey Market into the picture
Purchasing
Oversee the process for the multi-mode fulfillment model (Stock, JIT, and Dropship)
Develops strategies for multi-mode fulfillment model to increase profitability and efficiency
Responsible for overseeing all purchase orders submitted within the company
Responsible for setting and achieving budgeted purchase requirements with our partners
Develops processes to identify where each open item is within the supply chain and our partners
Procurement Data
Responsible for accurate lead times for all products listed on our website
Responsible to ensure accurate product availability for products on our site
Develops and enhances processes to manage all backorder products on our site
Coordinates and develops processes for products that have been discontinued
Coordinates and develops processes for all products that have been superseded
Continuous Improvement
Responsible for reviewing all technology annually and offering insight into best practices and potential solutions
Responsible for reviewing all processes within the department to increase efficiency
Ensures all processes are properly documented and trained to all team members
Develops strategies for supply chain risk mitigation
Develops strategies for product availability and brand risk mitigation
Ensures all processes within the department are repeatable and scalable
Responsible for developing standards for quality assurance across all functions within the department
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent experience is required.
10 years of progressive management or relative experience in Procurement or Supply Chain
Experience within the Automotive Aftermarket is preferred
Extensive experience sourcing and procuring inventory from all regions of the world
Experience managing inventory values in excess of over $50 million
Experience managing and maintaining data for an SKU base of over 200,000 products
Experience developing forecasting models for multi-site distribution
Experience managing and setting appropriate inventory levels across multiple facilities
Demonstrated ability to create successful budgets with strong KPI management
Strong and experienced negotiation skills
Ability to create extensive financial models for forecasting and cash management as it relates to inventory requirements
Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams to collaborate cross-departmentally
Ability to effectively communicate, interact with various levels of leadership and management
Strong analytical skills and an ability to lead data-driven discussions to drive alignment around inventory procurement strategies in the organization
Ability to build partnerships, manage stakeholders, and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to meet organizational objectives
Comprehensive understanding of the financial statements
Compensation
This position will target M7-Director or M8-Senior Director
$100,000 - $175,000 Base Salary
Up to 30% of Base Salary based on company performance
Up to 2,5000 stock units
