Job Description

The Project Manager coordinates and plans projects from beginning to end. The Project Manager will prepare budgets and cost estimates, create schedules, respond to issues and delays, collaborate with estimators and drafters, communicate with clients about progress and will ensure safety regulations and codes are met.

Essential Functions


  1. Preparation & enforcement of the Project Schedule.
  2. Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures, and potential construction problems.
  3. Assist estimator in preparation and review of quote.
  4. Assist in assembling the job site office & equipment requirements.
  5. Intelligently communicate with the Account Manager, design team, client, and subcontractors/tradespeople.
  6. Review construction drawings for accuracy prior to being submitted to Site Superintendent.
  7. Raise & discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings. Prepare & issue minutes of all site meetings.
  8. Expedite all Change Order costs and maintain current Change Order logs.
  9. Monitor site safety and ensure that OSHA requirements are enforced.
  10. Maintain & enforce good construction standards and quality control.
  11. Control & monitor labor, material, and equipment expenses.
  12. Communicate all project concerns with Account Manager in order to allow Account Manager to communicate most effectively with client.
  13. Align sub-contractors’ issue and manage all Subcontract agreements and requirements.
  14. Approve project invoices
  15. Bi-weekly site visits, if not more if needed
  16. Schedule and manage project preconstruction meeting
  17. Attend project turnover walkthrough
  18. Coordinate with site superintendent to ensure all punch list items are resolved.
  19. Calculate job bonuses at job closeout.
  20. Attend post construction meeting with Account Manager, Estimator, Draftsman and operations
  21. Display a readiness to acquire new knowledge and develop through team collaboration

Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position manages assigned field superintendents and is responsible for leadership, performance management.
Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and makes regular jobsite visits. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
  • As the position requires the ability to commute sometimes long distances via company vehicle, driving competencies are required


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


  • Out of the area travel and overnight stays will be expected.
Required Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, business management or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in a construction management environment.
  • 3 years of experience supervising, coaching and developing staff.


Preferred Education & Experience
  • Working knowledge of construction industry
