Job Description

FBi Buildings, Inc., a leader in the Post-Frame Building Industry, is seeking a Buyer to join our team located in Remington, IN.

Job purpose

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement and management of raw materials and packaging for the specific project they are assigned. The buyer is responsible for processing purchase orders, expediting and tracking these purchase orders for an on-time delivery for the scheduled production. The Buyer is responsible for providing effective customer service for all customers by using excellent knowledge of company policy and procedures as well as communicating effectively with team members.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Proficiently use the ERP system to order and produce reports
  • Creates, reviews, tracks, and maintains purchase orders for raw material until they are closed while communicating shortages and providing visibility of potential interruptions to customers
  • Analyzes pricing, demand forecasting, and market data using Microsoft Excel; including pivot tables, formulas, and graphs
  • Interfaces with their customers on purchasing activities
  • Create, review, and manage all forecasts or PO’s from the customer for finished goods from the time they are entered until shipped out
  • Communicates all complaints to internal team and the resolution to customer
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Shipping coordinator for timely release and shipment of finished goods
  • Maintains desired level of inventory by researching aged, expired, and excess materials
  • Work closely with Logistics to coordinate freight for all purchase orders as needed
  • Manage and resolve issues related to receiving and invoicing
  • Identify opportunities and implement actions to achieve efficiencies
  • Performs other duties as directed


Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to multitask with multiple internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to use Word and Excel
  • Experience with ERP system or purchasing/inventory software
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
