Job Description

Our client is a global multi-billion dollar Consumer Packaged Goods company, based in Broomfield, CO.  They are seeking a contract Quality & Food Safety Contractor in their Louisville, CO office.  Estimated length of assignment is 10 months. This is a hybrid position.

 

Job Description:

This position works within the Quality & Food Safety Department and cross functionally within our Design to Deliver Organization.  The primary responsibility is to ensure product certifications and artwork are compliant with internal and external requirements.  This position is the Quality & Food Safety point of contact for select certifications, graphics/artwork questions, certification and artwork focused projects, process improvements, and is responsible for managing the graphic approval process for QFS.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate QA graphics approval processes across the manufacturing network covering all product brands across US and Canada
  • Coordinate certification programs and processes including continuous improvement work, while representing the company to the certifying bodies covering products manufactured in US and Canada
  • Maintain, update, and share knowledge on the graphics approval matrix, company coding requirements, and quality led graphics initiatives (such as QR codes)
  • Be a subject matter expert and primary resource for manufacturing plants regarding certifications and other areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate QFS efforts on certifications/graphics electronic systems and tools enhancement activities
  • Provide education regarding Quality Systems standards across all company plants related to label control, graphics standards, certifications, and product coding requirements
  • Partner with R&I to ensure that manufacturing specifications reflect the certification and artwork requirements of the material
  • Develop and manage key metrics related to projects, certifications, and graphics activity
  • Act as the QFS lead for graphics only or certification focused projects, graphics changes or updates, and process and system changes
  • Coordinate QFS efforts relating to artwork and certification changes within QFS, R&I, and plants involving new product launches, label changes, plant trials, and formulation materials
  • Coordinate NORAM finished product water compliance program, including analysis, and reporting of test results, with the regulatory and international manufacturing location teams
  • Coordinate NORAM material testing, including results analysis and reporting, to ensure compliance with certification requirements for programs such as Live and Active Cultures (LAC), Gluten certifications, and others
  • Stay current with all key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines, especially relating to nutritional facts panels, allergen labeling, certifications, and other labeling laws
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Food Science/Technology or similar major
  • 1-2 years combined experience with food, ingredients and/or manufacturing experience recommended
  • Previous experience in QA Management in a food manufacturing environment is preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Must be detail oriented. Self-driven, results oriented, able to work independently
  • Experience with quality metrics reporting
  • Basic understanding of Quality Systems, Food Safety, and Quality Assurance
  • Ability to work under deadlines and with multiple priorities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within organization
  • Must be adaptable and flexible and quick to learn systems, tools, and company programs
  • Ability to work with confidential materials
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially Excel
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent record keeping/documentation skills

 

Nonessential Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP databases
