Front Desk Receptionist/Assistant Health Care/Medical

The mental health office has an IMMEDIATE opening for an experienced, professional, enthusiastic receptionist with excellent communication and strong multitasking skills. Primary tasks include checking clients in and out, answering and returning phone calls, scheduling appointments, follow up, verifying insurance benefits, e-mailing, scanning and virtual faxing correspondence, proofreading, light cleaning, and any additional tasks assisting the provider(s). The candidate must also work well with other team members and also perform well unsupervised.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience performing the above tasks in a medical/mental health/professional setting and is familiar with HIPAA, confidentiality, etc. The candidate must also be highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, technologically savvy in using the internet, smartphone (IOS), computer, texting, copying, pasting, etc. The candidate should be comfortable with working with people of all various backgrounds, ages, and different disabilities (intellectual, mental illness, physical limitations, etc.).
The candidate should be comfortable working independent and alone at the office on some of the days of the week while receiving communications from the office manager and the provider remotely (by text, email, phone calls, etc.)
The candidate will also be responsible for proofreading reports, word documents, editing, and managing sensitive documents.
Reliable transportation required
Punctual- must be at work on time and ready
Professional, outgoing, and able to stand for 1-3 hours or more at a time, and carry approximately 45 pounds
Most communication will be done through e-mail, texting, etc.
Must be flexible with work schedule
Must live within 5 to 20 minutes from the office, such as Port St. Lucie, Ft. Pierce, or Northern parts of Martin County.
Bilingual in Spanish would be preferred but not mandatory
Preference for knowledge of EMR, insurance verification and authorizations, data entry, registering patients, etc.
Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of the patient’s arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner
Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured
Experience:
- Computer Skills: 4 years (Required)
- Medical Billing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Front Desk: 2 years (Required)
- Doctor Office: 2 years (Required)
- Medical Terminology: 2 years (Preferred)
- High school diploma (Required)
- Associates college degree (Preferred)
