Job Description

The SSD PDE (Package Development Engineering) Technical Product Manager represents manufacturing in the development of new products and manufacturing technologies in support of the new products. You will be responsible for managing and guiding product prototyping and development activities.


You will:

  • Provide product support throughout the entire product lifecycle
    • Technical product owner responsible for SSD assembly
    • Summarize, communicate and drive solutions to product design and manufacturing issues.
    • Develop and Refine business processes to improve time to market on new products.
  • Product development, product NPI and HVM
    • Coordinate product builds to support internal development programs.
    • Provide technical feedback in product design reviews
    • Responsible for successful completion of Manufacturing Feasibility Review
    • Conduct weekly manufacturing meetings to support Prototyping and development builds
    • Review Prototyping reports and summarize product and process readiness status
  • Product NPI
    • The SSD PDE (Product Development Engineering) Technical Product Manager is the voice of global manufacturing in the PDT (product development team).
    • Ensures manufacturing does not create delays in the critical path of product development
    • Ensure successful launch of SSD programs into HVM (high volume manufacturing).
    • Publish process transfer expectations and schedule, and coordinate efforts among manufacturing functional groups.
    • Work with local and global manufacturing teams, Production, Planning, QA, Business units, etc., to transfer products between worldwide manufacturing sites.
  • HVM
    • Assist in analyzing and troubleshooting any product, process or quality issues related to the production of products to ensure the overall efficiency and quality of operations. Communicate with internal and external customers regarding product returns, quality issues and drive related product improvements

You will have:

  • Solid Surface Mount Technology (SMT) experience.
  • Extensive PCB Assembly experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in surface mount technology manufacturing.
  • Experience in Product Engineering, Project Management, Program Management, Subcon Management.
  • Experienced in or knowledge of surface mount manufacturing and assembly operations required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal, relationship and team-building skills.
  • The ability to work, interface, and communicate with a wide variety of people and groups in different areas of Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Product Engineering, Design, QA, Supply Chain.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and risk analysis methods.
  • A high level of self-motivation, self-directed, goal-oriented and multi-tasking skills.
  • The ability to effectively accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
