The departments of Discovery Oncology and Bioinformatics are seeking a highly talented and motivated molecular biologist to implement and further optimize complex protocols revolving around single cell genomic experiments. The focus of our lab is to unravel heterogeneity in primary tumors and metastatic disease, with specific emphasis in colorectal cancer (CRC). To this end, the successful candidate will be well versed in next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, including RNA/DNA isolation, library preparations in 96/384 well-plates, library quantification, running sequencing. Candidates with prior hands on experience in single cell technologies and whole exome sequencing are encouraged to apply. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in administrative responsibilities including writing standard operating procedures (SOP), ordering reagents, and managing lab supplies for routine experiments.
Who you are
Research and lab experience in an academic and/or industry position.
Hands-on skills expertise in a variety of molecular biology skills including PCR, sequencing, expertise working with complex protocols, making reagents, DNA/RNA isolation from minute cell quantities, experience working with 96/384 well plate-based protocols.
Experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) technology, library preparations and tissue cell extraction are required. Cell culture and FACS experience, western blot and other biochemistry experience a plus.
Demonstrated independence in experimental design, execution, data analysis and troubleshooting required.
Attention to detail with excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally.
Qualified candidates will hold a doctoral degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Biotechnology and have a successful track record as illustrated by a publication record, authorship on patents, or other tangible success metrics.
