Quality Engineer


12+ month contract/project position. 3 openings for Quality Engineers. Part of a major initiative with a large, national company responsible for making critical personal protective equipment. Onsite roles in Monroe NC site. Initiative is a high-level quality program driving efficient  manufacturing of  personal protective equipment and safety devices for fire and rescue services, industrial workers, police, military and civil defense organizations around the world.

Quality Engineer will team with Manufacturing Engineer and Project Specialists in gathering, reviewing and assess data related to product defects, complaints, failure data, to determine better manufacturing practices, control plans and solutions. Use risk methodologies in determining short-term and long term solutions. These are hands-on roles requiring a thorough understanding of quality review process engineering, in order to apply engineering principles towards process re-design and optimization. Must know, and have experience with, capability studies. Knowledge of product quality, quality control plans, and strong technical aptitude. Associates degree minimum. Bachelor's preferred.

Update PFMEA based on analysis of data collected. Perform line by line of updated PFMEA review on the production line. Update CP and Operator Instructions based on Risks Identified. Develop, validate and implement error-proofing techniques to mitigate risks identified in PFMEAs.

Quality Engineer

Ability to effectively facilitate and participate in PFMEA reviews, conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), gauge Capability Studies, and process capability studies on processes/equipment, and communicate results to management both verbally and in writing. • Participate in QA meetings. • In-depth understanding of statistical methods. • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Interaction. • Establishes and cultivates a network of support (laboratory, quality, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments. Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion. • Leads projects to develop processes, procedures, test equipment, and tooling used to produce and test final assembly products, related sub-assemblies and new products. • Implements and monitor new processes for new product designs or changes in existing designs; verify processes specifications, functional and /or environmental test requirements and need for poke yoke assembly process and fixtures.

Minimum five (5) years of Quality Engineering experience in product environment.

• Must have hands on working knowledge of the following skill sets: • Problem Solving • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) • MSA (Measurement System Analysis) (GRR's)  Capability Studies • SPC • GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) • Computer Skills (Word, Lotus Notes, Lotus 123, and Freelance)

 • Degree in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineering • Proficient in Process FMEA, Control Plans and Flow Diagraming. • Broad detailed knowledge of quality processes. • Knowledge of digital data acquisition tools and techniques. • Skills include strong organizational, analytical and communication skills. •
