Job Title:Maintenance Technician
Location: Gurnee, IL
Duration: 6+ months
Performs all types of complex demand and preventative maintenance and assembly work on semi-automated manufacturing equipment. Includes programming, troubleshooting, and repair of inkjet printers, sealing equipment, pouching equipment, vision systems, labeling, and feeding equipment along with other equipment of similar type.
Provide maintenance technician support for Operations and Engineering Department and other activities, such as, but not limited to, equipment repairs, machine shop operations, material (commodity, packaging, etc.) testing, laboratory equipment/instrumentation installation, startup and qualification, as well as related facilities activities.
Provide guidance to other Client Technicians and outside contractors to assure a timely and correct completion of assigned activities. Capable of providing training to production operators in the use of equipment. Provide technical assistance in his/her selected area as well as recommend alternatives to the lead engineering and operations staff.
Ensures that GMP and safe work policies and procedures are always followed and maintained in accordance with established company policies both with themselves and others.
Capable of determining root cause failures of equipment and describing the resulting actions taken to return the equipment to operational functionality in a well-documented manner.
Work independently to resolve equipment interdependency conflicts and/or ambiguous instructions. Confident and knowledgeable of own abilities and when additional assistance is needed quickly communicate the needs for additional support.
High School Diploma and two years successful completion of a trade school or Junior College (or apprenticeship) certification in their selected field.
Four years of related experience may be substituted for the two-year certificate. The four years may not be counted twice for both education and experience.
Familiarity with MAXIMO or an alternate computerized maintenance management system highly recommended.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to successfully interface with multi disciplined engineers and operations staff in understanding task requirements and communicating directly to other individuals within the greater Engineering organization.
Must be able to adapt to changing requirements and meet timeline commitments without sacrificing workmanship quality.
Must be a self-starter, capable of organizing his/her work as well as the work of assigned Client technical persons, and or outside contractors.
