Growing international Aerospace company is looking for a Chemical Engineer or Chemical Manufacturing Engineer to add to their team.
Responsible for manufacturing process improvement and implementation to reduce product defects and/or improve process efficiency.
Technical problem solving for processing anomalies or optical defects in acrylic and/or glass laminated assemblies.
Troubleshooting and refinement of manufacturing processes.
Support equipment upgrades and maintenance requirements.
Create equipment/facility maintenance procedures.
Transition new products from development to serial production.
Identify non-conformance causes and implement robust corrective actions.
Coordinate several process improvement, cost reduction and/or defect reduction projects. This includes using Lean Manufacturing techniques as well as Process Validation, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma Problem Solving skills to address manufacturing and quality issues.
Planning, design, and implementation of tooling to support manufacturing processes.
Document work instructions for operators and train personnel.
Disposition non-conforming material.
Generate or revise routers and bill of materials.
Develop and foster strong internal relationships throughout the organization to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisor, engineers, co-workers, and customers.
Bachelors degree in Chemistry (Polymers), Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; chemical engineering is preferred.
3+ years of experience in an engineering role in manufacturing
Material properties and material processing of acrylics or polymers preferred.
Experience with micrographic and/or chemical analysis of defects in acrylics or polymers preferred.
Experience supporting serial production programs preferred.
Computer skills including: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Minitab (preferred), Visual Basic (preferred).
