General description summary: Manages all production activities within the food plant according to GMP’s, SQF, FDA, and FSMA standards. Plant Manager will oversee 3 shift operations plus Saturday/Sunday special assignment shifts and direct teams to effectively achieve production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (not in any priority):

  • Manage site performance; optimize production in relation to available raw materials, capacity, production plans, quality requirements and quality standards.

  • Deliver on key targets, follow-up on the action plans of various departments, while reviewing production flow to ensure best practices are used to achieve desired results.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and makes recommendations concerning technical and mechanical processes, which would enhance efficiencies, reduce costs, and provide the highest quality product to our customers.

  • Lead an accomplished and experienced team; ensure positive and proactive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Ensures that all equipment is properly maintained and that all areas are kept clean and orderly.

  • Continuously audit plant activities, prepare annual budgets, and plan off-season work to prepare for upcoming seasons.

  • Responsible for ensuring implementation of Food Safety Program. Assist in verifying and validating of Food Safety Program.

  • Experience in FDA or USDA manufacturing environment (Required)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Plant Manager within a food production and/or packaging operation.

  • Excellent background and experience relative to finance and productivity efficiencies to achieve lowest possible manufacturing costs.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders (verbally and written) in English

  • Computer literate (word-processing); Excel and Microsoft

  • Inventory systems knowledge.
