Job Description
A healthcare organization in Southwest Houston is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to execute strategic plans, provide fiscal oversight, evaluate performance, and make decisions regarding the hiring and discharging of staff.  This role has the authority to review and approve or deny recommendations and decisions made by managers and directors.  Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Chief Financial Officer Responsibilities:
  •  Manages Finance and Accounting, Budget, Revenue Management, Purchasing, and administrative functions within those departments
  • Advises the CEO on company strategies and their implementation, manages the stated functions, and obtains and oversees the work of outside vendors and service providers
  • Negotiates critical contracts, and is involved in complex business transactions and financial management
  • Provides instructional leadership to department heads, creates administrative policies and procedures, develops, and manages the budget and engages staff
  • Interprets fiscal policy regulations
  • Ensures the investment policy and strategy approved by the Board of Trustees is observed
  • Maintains the relationships with managed care agencies and oversees negotiations
  • Directs the procurement function and ensures compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
  • Presents financial reports to board members with a firm command of the relevant facts and circumstances related to the financial reports
Chief Financial Officer Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; Master’s level degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience with a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience required
  • Must have significant experience working in a large and complex organization with proven financial, budgetary, and capital planning expertise
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health or general healthcare with special emphasis on administration, supervision, and fiscal allocation preferred
  • Managed care alternative or value-based payment experience preferred
  • Experience in financial operations of a governmental entity a lus
  • Must be able to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization and community in a diplomatic, professional, and tactful manner
Salary:  $225,000.00 per year
