Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing healthcare team as a Maintenance Associate. This individual will also act as a driver, taking patients and their caregivers to appointments and on field trips.

We are seeking candidates available for full time employment

ECC is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long term, and/or palliative care. We are an around-the-clock residential facility that provides skilled care to medically fragile children, birth to age 21, who have a technology dependency. ECC simply exists to provide a vulnerable population with as normal of a childhood experience as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Helps maintain facility grounds including lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc.
  • Assists with carpentry, painting, and other routine maintenance functions.
  • Provides transportation to resident population to attend medical appointments.
  • Completes and carries out general work orders inclusive of repairing and/or replacing defective parts, repairing electrical equipment including lighting.
  • Troubleshoots and tests equipment performance.
  • Completes housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Assists with pickup of supplies/materials for departmental functions.
  • Independently perform labor intensive physical activities (including but not necessarily limited to standing, lifting, pushing/pulling, and bending).
  • Performs on-call duties as needed/assigned.
  • Team player - should be willing and able to take direction and assist in general operations.
  • Individuals should possess a strong attention to detail as it relates to keeping a neat, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Exemplary time management skills.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience as a maintenance worker, custodian, janitor, transportation driver, and/or an employee of a long-term nursing facility preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Completion of First Aid Certification and Passenger Safety and Service (PASS) testing within 90 days of hire. Completion of Defensive Driving Module III completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Department of Motor Vehicles Check (no more than three chargeable accidents or moving violations in the last 3 years and no revoked license in the past 3 years).
  • Annual Background Check and 10 Panel Drug Test.
  • Candidates should have the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
