Graphic Designer/Production Artist

Overview of Job Description:

The graphic designer / Production Artist will execute design files and production files into production and pre-press ready files. They will create and develop concepts for food & nutritional packaging and demonstrate a solid sense of design skills.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce packaging artwork and typography according to company design Standards and FDA regulations.
• Support and maintain the implementation of cataloging, archiving and backup systems.
• Generate a high volume of printed samples/mock-ups and prepare layouts for design selection and approval.
• Create/Develop licensed product graphics/artwork for packaging.
• Attend and approve press checks for production printing.

• Incorporate creativity, use sound judgment, organize work, proactively manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment and meet strict deadlines.
• Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Express ideas clearly written and graphically
• Demonstrate a solid sense of design, layout and typography

Knowledge of:

• Packaging design and development
• Proficient w/MAC, CC mostly Illustrator and some Photoshop, MS-Office including Outlook
• Pre-press, printing, comps and mechanicals
• Working knowledge of print production
• Press Checks

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or completion of a 2-year Graphic Design Certificate or equivalent

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field
