Job Description

The Compound Management business unit of Evotec (US) Inc., www.evotec.com, a drug discovery solutions international organization, offers a range of services to help organizations build, grow, and/or manage small molecule collections to the highest quality in support of high throughput biological screening.  Our facility is home to sample collections owned by governmental, not-for-profit, and commercial organizations.  Our experience managing the U.S. NIH’s Molecular Libraries Small Molecule Repository (MLSMR) as well as sample collections owned by academic and commercial organizations allow us to deliver optimal solutions for this critical function.

We are looking for a full-time Research Associate, Operations to join our team in Branford, CT. 

Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide high-level laboratory technical support for the Compound Management Operations Team.  As a critical member of the team, the qualified individual will assist in the development of a growing compound management operation.  The position requires a highly motivated and technically skilled professional with compound management expertise and respect within the industry, able to work in a high demand environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure that all areas of a complex high throughput compound management operation operate safely and with the highest level of quality
  • Process small molecule collections of various clients as well as Evotec compounds.
  • May include receiving, weighing, dissolving, sampling, storing and plating compounds in a variety of solvents using both manual and automated techniques
  • Perform data handling, inventory tracking, and accurate record keeping
  • Supervise and training staff at the CM lab technician level. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Titian Mosaic as it pertains to Evotec Compound Management Operations
  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineering function to support of Operations and the needs of client workflows.
  • Must follow Standard Operating Procedures as required

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must have a demonstrated record of achievement with compound management operations.
  • Experience with Titian Mosaic, including development testing, is a significant advantage.
  • Collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Education and experience:

Bachelors or Master’s degree in a life science field. Minimum 3-5 years experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Compound management field.
