Recreational Therapist
This is a part- time (20-25 hours) permanent position at Evolve, which is a leading eating disorder treatment clinic in Wisconsin. Evolve offers outpatient, intensive outpatient and Partial Hospitalization levels of care.
Recreational Therapist (RT) plan, direct, and coordinate recreation-based treatment programs for Evolve clients in collaboration with Evolve staff and the Program and Clinical/Executive Director.
RT’s use a variety of modalities, including arts and crafts; drama, music, and dance; sports and games; aquatics; and community outings to help maintain or improve a patient’s physical, social, and emotional well-being.

RT’s provide assessment and behavioral health treatment services to individual in our intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs. RT’s Facilitate IOP/PHP groups or other group depending on client needs. Lastly, RT’s objectively support Evolves program mission for healing, innovation and outcome-measured outpatient care philosophy.

Responsibilities:
- Create recreational therapy programming for Evolves IOP and PHP programs of care
- Facilitate groups which can be on or off site.
- Meeting with clients individually bases on needs of the clients and clinic
- For each assigned case, assess client needs assist with establishing a differential diagnosis, assist with developing and implementing a treatment plan, evaluate client progress and discharge and/or refer client for further treatment, support or education.
- Provide appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by Evolve, insurance and state standards.
- Ensure services are provided with client-centered healing approach and are delivered through goal specific interventions.
- Develop and manage client records from initial assessment through discharge. Maintain the clinical records and compile documentation required by Evolve as well as governing agencies.
- Participate in and act on the results of agency quality assurance and utilization review process.
- Ensure compliance with governing agency and reporting requirements.
- Occasional travel to other Evolve clinics for meetings and staff coverage
- Participate in and contribute to case review, staff meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, in services, staff continuing education activities and case consultation with other Evolve clinical staff members and consultants as required.
- Understand and support Evolve’s philosophy and treatment modalities.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding medical issues, background and treatment.
- Ensure client information is protected per HIPAA standards.
- Maintain case files within the electronic health records and paper charting as needed.
- Regularly assess treatment progress with the client, client’s family (when applicable) and clinical treatment team.
- Stay current with updated research and best treatment practices.
- Participate in and contribute to practice development at Evolve by appropriately acknowledging referrals, maintaining existing referral relationships, and developing new practice niches and referral sources.
- Develop and pursue a plan for continuing professional development related to psychotherapy and areas of specialization and maintain required amount of CEU’s on a yearly basis.
- Participate in staff development and enrichment days.
- Coordination of care with outside agencies and insurance carriers.

- Familiarity with the use and benefit of psychological testing.

- Ability to gain the trust of referral sources, clients and staff and to protect confidentiality of Saris and Evolve clients

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited or state approved program with a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy.
- Training, experience and/or demonstrated interest in eating disorders.
- Full Wisconsin licensure/Certification
- Clean legal record.
- Understanding of eating disorder treatment preferred but will train the appropriate candidate
