The Elevator Pitch

Do you enjoy having ownership and creating standardization amongst technical documentation? Does gathering information and reviewing it in a timely manner before a release excite you?

In the Technical Writer role, you will manage and make sure all customer channel and service facing documentation is consistent, while ensuring correct and accurate information is properly disseminated. You will spearhead the drive to deliver on-time and accurate documentation for printed and online delivery and will support the development of customer training and marketing efforts. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for developing procedures and maintaining the review process within Evolv.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

In the first 30 days, you will:
  • Be a driven and passionate person who embraces our mission and is committed to developing content that all can consume and retain knowledge from
  • Attend product training and gain an in depth understanding of the Evolv Express system
  • Review and understand the current processes to make recommendations to management regarding a process to develop, review, and maintain the current document set.

Within 3 months, you will:
  • Develop and own the content, while constantly seeking to improve the process and documentation delivered
  • Creating documents that ring true with minimal effort and confusion to the audience, and develop streamlined knowledge sharing process that is repeatable
  • Create a documentation process that becomes adopted by the Evolv team that is the standard for any documentation moving forward

By the end of the first year, you will:
  • Become a part of the fabric and drive innovation with future documentation
  • Creating a new edge of documentation, taking it to the next level
  • Make documentation more than just documentation, making it powerful content
  • Create a knowledge vessel that is used by everyone at Evolv - channel, customers, employees
  • Researching and implementing best practices of revamping documentation to ensure the content is captivating and up to date
  • Have processes that are the proper way to create documentation and review for accuracy and timeliness

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
  • Project management skills for organizing and managing all documentation efforts with subject matter experts and others who will supply knowledge
  • Maintain an open dialogue and ensure timelines are met for delivery
  • Lead efforts and drive success through easy-to-follow repeatable procedures.
  • Ensure timelines are accurate and reflect the needs of the release, with support from the engineering teams and product management
  • Push the envelope of creativity while maintaining the document set across many platforms
  • Enable the customer with accurate information to quickly increase uptake and usage of the Express by plainly and easily outlining features and functions to ensure product acceptance and correct usage

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?
  • You will be joining the Customer Success Team. The Technical Success team is comprised of 1 Instructional Design and Documentation Specialist and reports to the Technical Success and Instructional Design leader.

Where is the role located?
  • The location of this role is based in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.
