Position Summary

Headquartered in Georgetown, Texas, Cangshan Cutlery’s mission is to create beautiful and functional kitchen knives with premium materials crafted by experts. Cangshan is part of a family of companies that includes New Star Foodservice and Everware International. The Manufacturing Engineer will work as the primary liaison between design resources in Asia and our US Operations team. The person in this role has an amazing opportunity to work with our COO, CEO, and VP of Brand on new product designs and marketing collateral. This is a very unique role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties and responsibilities required.

• Complete and release component and tooling designs, including 3D solid models and 2D drawings
• Create product related documentation for Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing
• Provide engineering support for future manufacturing facility and processes
• Validate components per defined engineering requirements
• Lead evaluation of design related tools, software, and asset management systems
• Lead efforts to establish engineering standards for the organization include drawing standards, technical review elements, and engineering change control
• Establish engineering lab facilities and protocols for US operations
• Collaborate with creative and development teams to define and iterate existing product features
• Create design mock-ups, renderings, and visualizations for marketing asset development
• Serve as primary interface with design team in China

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
• 0-5 years’ experience in new product design, solid modeling, and detail drawings
• 0-2 years’ experience in development of manufacturing work instructions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Advanced level proficiency with engineering design programs (e.g., Solidworks and AutoCAD)
• High proficiency with graphics software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator strongly desired
• Ability to apply rigorous problem-solving skills and good judgment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Humble, driven, and emotionally intelligent
• Collaborative mind-set
• Tenacious personality
• Able to speak Mandarin Chinese preferred

Physical Demand

• Able to sit and/or stand for up to eight (8) hours per day
• Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
