Job Description

Description: The responsibility of the Programmer is to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use technical level knowledge to recommend and implement architectures that are scalable, reliable and usable
  • Advise and collaborate with IT personnel and management with respect to database requirements, emergency recovery, security requirements and potential integration issues
  • Research and document specifications as needed throughout the software development life cycle
  • Collaborate and assist with modifications for the functional business units and clients to determine requirements for business systems
  • Code, test, debug, implement troubleshoot and document programs
  • Design, develop and implement solutions for projects or enhancements to existing programs of moderate to high complexity
  • Write, translate and code software applications according to specifications to enhance functionality and/or performance of applications
  • Design, run, and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging
  • Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or, at least 5 years of experience in programming
  • Must have experience working with programming languages, operating systems and software
  • Must have experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
  • Must have exceptional analytical, problem solving skills more in the areas of design, creation and testing of programs
  • Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of personnel and work effectively internally with team members, management and support personnel, as well as external clients
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
