Who are we?

Ethical Culture Fieldston School is a progressive pre K-12 independent school serving students from throughout New York City and the surrounding suburbs.  Committed to academic excellence, ethical learning, and progressive education, ECF offers a rich and challenging curriculum in the arts, sciences, and humanities. A coed, nonsectarian school, it serves a diverse community of about 1,700 students from PreK to 12 on two campuses -- one in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, and the other in Manhattan.  Ethical Culture, located in Manhattan, has approximately 450 students and 75 faculty members.

We are looking for an experienced school psychologist for our Ethical Culture division in Manhattan. The successful candidate should be warm, dynamic, energetic and creative, with a keen sense of humor and significant experience working with children, parents and teachers in an elementary school setting. This individual will work closely with students in PreK to 5th grade, all classroom and assistant teachers, parents, and our guidance group (Guidance Counsellor, Learning Specialist, Assistant Principals and Principal). 


  • Master’s degree or PhD in clinical or school psychology
  • 5-8 years experience working with elementary school age children and their families
  • Experience working closely with teachers
  • Expertise in a variety of assessment tools
  • Sense of humor and a passion for progressive education
  • Experience reading neuropsychological evaluations and sharing results with teachers and families
  • Ability to create individualized learning plans based upon results of neuropsychological evaluations
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice
