Job Description

As a Central Dispatch Processor, you will be supporting the Central Dispatch Supervisors as they assign and manage the daily workload of our over the road drivers focusing on the daily aspects of service performance and cost control with goals of controlling load quality, equipment balance and subsequent empty miles generated while maximizing driver and equipment utilization. Transportation dispatching knowledge and good communication skills are important to the success of the Central Dispatch Processor at Estes. Hours are Monday-Friday 9 pm to 1 am

  • Produce a variety of reports for Central Dispatch Supervisor team
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to internal and external customers
  • Research and process intermodal, equipment, and Linehaul invoices
  • Perform variety of functions pertaining to Linehaul and equipment as scheduled and upon request
  • Complete essential functions of AS400 pertaining to Linehaul dispatch and equipment
  • Interact with Central Dispatch Director, Managers, Specialist and the Central Dispatch Supervisor team
  • Considered as essential Operations personnel
  • Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Customer Service experience with internal and external customers preferred
  • One year experience of Transportation Dispatch experience preferred
  • Transportation experience with analysis of freight movement, logistics, handling, coordination & scheduling preferred
  • Knowledge of Dept. of Transportation and safety regulations
  • Must be self- directed with strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Good geographic knowledge of the U.S.
  • Must be able to work non-traditional schedules in support of a 7 day / 24 hour operation which will include nights and weekend shifts and must be flexible to include holidays & ability to work in any weather condition
  • Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
  • Must be able to interact well with others
  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
