Tedd Wood is a growing company looking for a motivated, teachable, positive person to join our dynamic team! We are looking for a detail-oriented person who will be responsible for using hand operated orbital sander and other tools to prepare cabinets and compartments for finishing. This position inspects all incoming parts for adherence to quality standards, and verifies own work to ensure it meets standards before allowing pieces to move forward. The position requires strong attention to detail, accountability to self and others, and interdepartmental communication.

Hours 6 PM - 4:40 AM Monday night thru Thursday night, OT as needed

The Assistant Production Supervisor supervises production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment, plans and assigns work, and implements policies and procedures; all while maintaining the highest level of safety possible. This position is also responsible for the creating and reporting of improvements in production methods, equipment, work conditions and operating procedures

  • Supervise a specific department of skilled, repetitive manufacturing or warehousing operations.
  • Assign workstations and job duties; monitor, control and report on the quality and quantity of work.
  • Provide or arrange for materials and supplies, services and equipment for production operations while maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly inventory as needed by the Materials department.
  • Maintain workflow, communicate significant problems or production delays to the next level in the chain of command.
  • Must be able to assist Production Manager in improving system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and performance management.
  • Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development and makes employment decisions as well as resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Has authority for hiring and retention, termination, discipline and performance decisions within the established department guidelines.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and employee morale to achieve positive results in all areas with the goal of continuous improvement.
  • Manages departmental performance metrics, including visual controls and provides daily progress reports to managers.
  • Performs accident investigations.
  • Tracks absenteeism and time keeping.
  • Consults with engineering department relative to modifications of product in order to improve production and quality.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of supervisor experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel, problem-solving, and good analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to obtain results.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
