Experienced mechanic responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on motor-coaches, transit buses, company vehicles, and other related equipment. We are hiring for a full time experienced diesel mechanic Experience in HVAC, electrical, air systems, brakes, diesel engines, and suspension required. Must have tools. Class B commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement a definite plus, but not a requirement. We offer uniform service, vacation, paid holidays, 401K and health benefits. Pre-employment drug screening and background required. Must be able to sit, stand and bend for extended periods and be able to get under a vehicle. Pay based on experience and certifications.
We are looking for a weekend mechanic. Would be willing to do a four 10 hour shift.
PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITY:
Diagnose failures of vehicles and reassemble parts as necessary
Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
Answer road calls
Maintain vehicle records as required
Maintain and repair fleet equipment
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
21 years or older with CDL (preferred but not required) -- Valid DL is a MUST
Weekend hours required
Mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel repair
Experience with hydraulic and air brake systems
Knowledge of internal combustible engines
Adhere to DOT Regulations
Working with manufacturing standards (e.g., knowing current standards, staying up-to- date with the latest technology, having experience working with electronics, etc.)
Driving commercial vehicles requiring a Class A or B CDL (e.g., road testing buses , driving buses in and out of the repair shop, etc.)
Repairing buses, diesel engines and/or trucks
